Operations Internship

What will an Operations Intern do?

An intern will work on multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining compliance with federal regulations for safety, food safety and operational requirements. They will work with various team members of all levels and departments to meet production needs. In addition, the intern will need to have an open-mind and be willing to perform other tasks and or projects that support our operating team.

Responsibilities

  • Working with operations staff on various projects such as line installation, start-up and/or testing
  • Develop specifications, schedule work, and oversee implementation of various projects
  • Communicating production/quality information with multiple departments; Operations, Maintenance, Quality Assurance and Accounting
  • Work with supervisors and management to explore the business production needs and goals
  • Any other tasks or duties related to the internship or operations as needed

Qualifications

  • Full-time college undergraduate student, majoring in Agriculture, Food Sciences or other related fields at a regionally accredited college or university
  • Must be able to work in cold (around 35 degrees) or ambient (whatever it is outside) temperatures
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to execute duties with high quality results
  • Ability to complete job tasks with minimal supervision
  • Ability to operate a computer equipped with Microsoft Office

Commitment

  • Once accepted, the intern shall commit to the timeframe they will be available for the internship. The duration shall be approximately mid-May to mid-August.
  • Attendance is required and expected. Absences shall be minimal. An excess of more than two (2) unapproved absences may result in dismissal from the internship.
