The 2nd Shift Assistant Superintendent oversees the multiple processes, operating procedures, and working conditions at Indiana Packers Corporation. This position is responsible for supervising 1st Line Managers and Line Leaders in a meat processing environment and ensuring established daily production and quality targets are achieved. The 2nd shift Assistant Superintendent will utilize their skill, experience, and decision-making ability to ensure product through the department meets company, customer, and government specifications.


Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent or higher
    • Associates Degree strongly preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of continuous experience in a leadership or management role in a meat processing environment.
    • Fresh meat experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and deliver results
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Ability to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environments
  • Capable of lifting 60 plus lbs
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs in extreme heat
  • Flexibility to work on a variety of shifts and work overtime, including weekends as needed
  • Good computer literacy skills and experience using various software such as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to coach, develop, mentor team members to increase morale and productivity
  • Detail-oriented with ability to problem-solve and implement corrective actions
