Position Summary


Indiana Packers Corporation (IPC) is looking for Manufacturing Trainer Supervisor lead our Production Associate training team. A Training Supervisor must use previously acquired skills and experience to lead a group of trainers in our facility. As Training Supervisor, must coordinate with various stakeholders to determine training needs and work collaboratively to create a meaningful and effective training system for the team members. The role requires a deep understanding of our products and processes.

The Training Supervisor will also develop and implement post-training surveys and modify delivery methods/documents as needed. The Training Supervisor must take responsibility for ensuring training effectiveness through our production areas of the plant to support production targets while maintaining compliance with good manufacturing processes (GMP's) and workplace safety expectations.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct training needs analysis for various part of our operations.
  • Develop and deliver product, systems, process and on the job curriculum to manufacturing employees and subject matter experts.
  • Present baseline technical information in addition to appropriate skills needed to support manufacturing.
  • Measure, monitor, and report, on training programs being utilized.
  • Leverages feedback from internal and external stakeholders and metrics to identify opportunities for continuous improvement for new hire orientation and on the job training.
  • Partners with appropriate leadership to implement changes and provides feedback to leadership team on impact.
  • Manage the transition from job offer to onboarding to plant floor assimilation for new hires.
  • Use prescribed performance and learning tools, concepts, to model plan floor trainers.
  • Collect and analyze training data, report findings to key stakeholders in the organization.
  • Provide feedback on improvement opportunities for training, including developing a project plan.
  • Utilizes strong communication skills to properly coach and guide team members to resolve pork processing production issues and creates and ensures corrective actions are implemented and followed.
  • Responsible for creating a high morale workplace with the highest ethical standards by treating all team members with dignity and respect.
  • Provide training and coaching, conduct performance evaluations individually as needed and set departmental goals and expectations.
  • Ensures all proper pork processing procedures (quality, safety, etc...) are adhered to and not compromised.
  • Supervisory responsibility includes management of team member performance, hiring, discipline, training, guidance, and development.
  • Acts as a member of the management team and perform other duties as directed by position or required by the Superintendent, Operations Manager, or Plant Manager.
  • Ensure the appropriate level of discipline and accountability for team members while in pursuit of company and or customer established goals.
  • Assist in rolling out other programs in the organization and support various team member morale related activities.
  • Monitors and takes appropriate timely improvement actions necessary to meet production quality and quantity goals.
  • Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies and process control tools to meet or exceed the production schedule.
  • Facilitate workflow management, workforce scheduling, and placement to ensure the facility and company goals are successfully met.
  • Maintain team member compliance of company policies, safety standards, and good housekeeping through the application of fair and consistent accountability methods.

Education and Experience Requirements

  1. Bachelor's Degree in organizational leadership, Management, Coaching, or Development.
  2. 3 to 5 years of relevant experience is required.
  3. Experience in instructional design in a manufacturing setting is required.
  4. Project Management experience is preferred.
  5. 1-3 years' experience evaluating processes and personnel as it pertains to training effectiveness.
  6. Excellent presentation and group facilitation skills is a must (In person and virtually).
  7. Must have knowledge and understanding of adult learning.

Additional Requirements

  1. Must follow safety policies and practices, and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  2. Ability to work in hot, cold, wet, and humid environments on a variety of shifts.
  3. Available to work overtime, including weekends.
  4. Strong commitment to organization.
