HACCP Coordinator Delphi, IN

This position is the HACCP Coordinator position for the Delphi facility. The successful candidate will fully engage and assure compliance for key tasks relating to USDA regulatory, HACCP, SQF, sanitation, and pest control programs and compliance. The Coordinator will report directly to the site FSQA Director. The Coordinator will report regularly on the status of the food safety programs.

Core Responsibilities:

  • -Lead compliance for the site's HACCP plan including daily document review, Pre-Shipment tasks, and maintaining HACCP data
  • -Lead efforts to reduce and prevent foreign material
  • -Complete program reassessments at required frequencies and when necessitated by equipment or situational changes
  • -Investigate food safety program deviations. Determine root cause, implement corrective actions, and provide recommendations regarding disposition of potentially affected product
  • -Communicate directly with onsite FSIS staff, and prepare and send written communication to FSIS including answer NRs and Foreign Material notifications
  • -Develop and implement electronic forms in the software system, as needed for food safety and HACCP tasks
  • -Oversee calibration schedules and schedule maintenance for HACCP related equipment including thermometers and data recorders.
  • -Enforce, monitor, and document compliance to GMPs
  • -Conduct necessary training for staff executing HACCP related tasks
  • -Manage scheduling with 3rd party pest control provider and assess service reports
  • -Prepare and present weekly reports on FSQA performance and trends

Qualifications:

  • -Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Animal Science, Biology, or related field, REQUIRED
  • -Experience in a USDA meat facility, preferred
  • -HACCP and SQF certifications, preferred

Experience and Skills

  • -Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work well with coworkers onsite and at different site locations with assertive and respectful style
  • -Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • -Resourceful and self-motivated
  • -Proficient in Microsoft Office: Excel, Word. Experience with PowerBI beneficial, but not required.
